The Africa Women Conference (AWC), a premier annual gathering dedicated to the advancement of African women, is set to convene its 8th edition from November 6–8, 2024, at The Big Dome, Radisson Blu Hotel, Lusaka, Zambia. About the Africa Women Conference (AWC)

The Africa Women Conference is an annual gathering of experts, institutions, and stakeholders united by a singular mission: to advance the growth and development of African women. Each year, the conference emphasizes empowering women through education, skill acquisition, innovation, and strategic collaboration while influencing critical policy changes for sustainable development.

Dr. Jumai Ahmadu, Ph.D., is a visionary administrator, author, public policy analyst, and social impact philanthropist with over 20 years of experience in government and nonprofit leadership. She is the founder of Helpline Social Support Initiative and co-convener of the Africa Women Conference. Through her work, Dr. Ahmadu has empowered thousands of women, youth, and children across Africa, promoting education, healthcare, entrepreneurship, and sustainable community development. She remains committed to advancing Afrocentric solutions for Africa’s growth.

Since its inception, the Africa Women Conference has traveled across continents, building bridges of empowerment, resilience, and leadership:

    Theme: “Repositioning Africa: Roles of Women in Sustainable Development.”
    Marked the inaugural conference, emphasizing women’s pivotal roles in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
  • Namibia 2018:
    Theme: “Women Empowerment and Development: A Collective Burden.”
    Focused on technological advancement and agricultural innovation for women.
  • Morocco 2019:

Launched in 2022, AWC-Next focuses on:

In partnership with Nassarawa State University, the AWC Leadership Centre offers specialized courses aimed at equipping women with leadership and entrepreneurial skills to drive transformation in their communities and countries.

2024 Highlight: Digital Empowerment Takes Center Stage

This year’s conference theme places a powerful focus on the digital economy and the opportunities it holds for African women. One of the most anticipated keynote addresses will be delivered by Ambassador Dr. Jacqueline Mohair, transformational bridge coach, international business strategist, and founder of the Trinity Girls Network. Dr. Mohair is the founder of Trinity International University of Ambassadors, a school focused on ministry, community development, and entrepreneurship. She is renowned for her work empowering women and girls globally.

Her keynote, “Digital Advancement: Harnessing its Potential for the African Woman,” will explore how digital tools and technologies can be leveraged for personal and professional growth, entrepreneurship, leadership, and advocacy. Dr. Mohair will provide attendees with practical strategies to navigate the digital world and inspire them to embrace technology as a vehicle for transformation.
